Greek melodic Power metal masters FIREWIND have now released their much anticipated 8th studio album, ”Immortals”, which has managed to enter sales charts internationally as follows:

“Immortals” marks the first time FIREWIND used an outside co-producer, working with Dennis Ward (Unisonic, Pink Cream 69), who not only engineered, mixed and mastered the album, but also co-wrote it together with Gus G. Next to the standard jewel case CD and Digital Download formats, “Immortals” is also released as LP on 180gr vinyl with a poster as well as the entire album on CD as bonus. Additionally, there is also a limited edition Mediabook CD with expanded booklet, 3 stickers and a bonus track.
In related news, FIREWIND’s albums number three, “Forged By Fire” (2005), and four, “Allegiance” (2006), have just now been released for the first time ever on LP format and currently also rank in the Greek sales charts on positions # 71 and # 68, respectively. While FIREWIND will be heading out on the road across Europe in promotion of “Immortals” later this month, FIREWIND’s Gus G. has also announced a next European solo tour for April. This run of dates supporting Steve Stevens will see Gus teaming up with James-Paul Luna (Holy Grail) for special acoustic sets. Greek melodic Power metal masters FIREWIND, are releasing their 8th studio album, ”Immortals”, on January 20th, 2017!
In order to give you a next preview teaser for the upcoming album, a bombastic video clip, which was produced by the iCODE Team (Kamelot, Devin Townsend Project, Moonsorrow, etc.), as well as a digital single for the album track “Ode To Leonidas” are being launched today.
FIREWIND’s Gus G. checked in with the following comment about the track and its video:
“As many of you have found out by now, our new album "Immortals" is a concept and focusing on the battles of Thermopylae and Salamis. The song "Ode To Leonidas" is obviously about the legendary warrior King of Sparta and his heroic battle with his 300 brave men against the massive Persian army invaders.
For the production of the clip we traveled to Belgrade, Serbia and filmed with iCode team (same team that directed my solo video "The Quest" and so many other great bands) and we're really amazed by the end result. It's truly epic! We hope you will enjoy too. Heavy Metal fans - unite!”

Gus G comments about “Immortals” and its artwork: “Today we're very happy to reveal the cover artwork for our 8th studio album. It's titled "Immortals" and it's the first concept album FIREWIND has ever made. Since we're from Greece, we thought it would be a cool idea to make a concept of Greek history and heritage. So, on this album we focused on the legendary battles of Thermopylae and Salamis during the 2nd Persian invasion of Greece in 480 BC. The artwork was once again created by our longtime collaborator, Gustavo Sazes and we feel it reflects the vibe we tried to capture on this album - Epic, Powerful, Glorious, Everlasting.”

Hi everyone!
We feel it's time to give you an update on what's happening in our world. For the past few months we've been busy composing our 8th album and this week we finally entered the studio to start recording! We're super excited about it, as this is our first recording in 4 years, plus this will be our first album with our new singer Henning Basse (who should not be a stranger to our fans by now).
We've entered Noise Factory Studios in Belgium this week with producer/engineer Dennis Ward (Unisonic, Pink Cream 69, Krokus, etc.) to track drums and it's sounding huge already!
As the schedule is pretty hectic for the next few months with recordings, finalizing everything, etc. we feel we need time to have a proper setup for the album release and give it the attention it deserves.
Therefore, we have decided to postpone our UK/European club dates to early 2017. All dates are there and we've even added an extra UK show in Southampton and one more in Strasbourg, France. Moreover, we will have Sweden's MANIMAL as special guests, as well as Greece's SCAR OF THE SUN opening the shows. Tickets already purchased are still valid for the re-scheduled dates. We're sorry for the inconvenience, but we promise it'll be worth the wait!
Our summer festival appearances are still on and we'll be revealing more info on the new album as we go along!
