FIREWIND Completes Successful North American Tour;
FIREWIND, have just completed their most successful run of North America as part of the massive “Tyranny and Bloodshred” tour package, which was hailed as one of the best guitar-shredder packages of the year.
Gus G. further comments in regards to the tour’s success:
“Just wanted to check in and let you know that we arrived home safely from our massive North American tour! Overall, this tour took us through 30 cities, 16 of those being a part of the ‘Tyranny and Bloodshred’ package. After those dates we jumped straight into another 14 shows together with Dark Tranquillity and Divine Heresy.
“We had great times on this tour and we want to thank Arch Enemy, DT and DH as well as our great crew and everyone who was involved into making this happen. Last but not least, thanks to all our American fans for their true support and dedication, we will be back soon!
“Right after the last show in Springfield, Virginia, we flew out to England to play the UK’s premier metal festival, Download! We landed in London the morning after; totally jet lagged, jumped into a van and drove straight to the festival. The excitement was huge and we couldn’t wait to finally rock Donington!
So, on Friday the 13th @ 3:05 we hit the 3rd stage of Download and it was damn packed, with thousands of people chanting our name. We definitely didn’t expect such a warm welcome. It was an amazing feeling and a big dream coming true. I am very proud that we were the first Metal band from Greece to ever play Donington. We will see you all soon.”
Gus just posted the second installment of his new instructional guitar series online at http://youtube.com/FireTV and in this episode Gus runs through some riffs from the album’s lead off track “Into The Fire.” Stay tuned for new episodes featuring vocal lessons from Apollo, drum lessons from Mark and keyboard lessons from Bob, which should be posted over the next couple of months.

Portuguese summer festival postponed
Dear friends,
we were just informed that the Portuguese summer festival "Lagoa Burning Live" has been postponed due to some problems with the venue.
This means that FIREWIND will not be performing in Portugal this summer.
We"re sorry about this as we were really looking forward to coming back to Portugal! We hope we can re-schedule a show over there as soon as possible!

Tales of the Greek Road Warriors
FIREWIND guitarist, Gus G. reports from the road: So here we are back in North America as part of the “Tyranny & Bloodshred” tour! This tour has been so amazing for us from all aspects: We’re sharing the stage with 3 AMAZING bands, all musicians and crew are getting along with each other and the whole vibe on this tour is like we’re one big family.
As for the shows and the fans, we’re just speechless! We really didn’t know what to expect sharing the bill with some brutal bands but the US and Canadian crowds really seem to love FIREWIND! All shows have been packed if not sold out so far and we already have great memories from every city we hit.
We’ve also had some great times in Canada and we visited the West Coast for the first time. Winnipeg and Calgary simply ROCK! Last night in Edmonton we got into some trouble when we were informed @ short notice that the show would start 45 minutes earlier. Apollo was somewhere in town and got lost on the way back, so unfortunately he made it to the venue pretty late. We ended up playing a shorter set and we want you to know that we’ll make up for it the next time – that’s a promise!
As for what’s been going on backstage all I can say that every band and crew member are fantastic people and there’s mutual respect among all!
Divine Heresy are a very brutal and intense live band and Dino Cazares is a true road warrior! As for Arch Enemy they’re putting on bone crushing shows each night – they’ve been treating us very well and we appreciate the fact that they took us on the road with them.
We’re sharing bus with Dark Tranquillity and they’re some of the best guys we’ve ever met. They too deliver killer shows, and they’re true party animals! In fact, I don’t remember a night on our bus so far that there hasn’t been a party night!

“The Premonition” Japanese release date announced!
To all FIREWIND Japanese fans: The wait is finally over! “The Premonition” will be released in the land of the Rising Sun on June 25th through King Records!
The album will be released also as limited edition CD + DVD including 4 songs from the band’s acclaimed hometown show in Thessaloniki on January 12, 2008 plus in-depth interviews with each band member.
In addition to that, the album will contain 3 bonus tracks:

FIREWIND CONFIRMED FOR DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL & ANNOUNCE UK HEADLINING TOUR!!!
After a storming European tour with Kamelot, the Greek metal phenomenon FIREWIND, will be making their much anticipated return to the UK this summer when they perform at this years Download Festival on Friday 13th June at Donington Park.
Gus G comments on the bands inclusion at the festival “We"re very excited about being confirmed for Download Festival! It"s simply THE premier rock / metal festival of Europe and we"re damn proud to be a part of it! Expect a show full of Fire and Fury!!”
In addition to Download Firewind have confirmed that they will be back in the UK for a full headlining tour in September, Gus G continues ”It"s no secret that in the UK we have the most loyal and hardcore Firewind fans. And we"re extremely happy to announce our first extensive UK headline tour which includes 9 shows in England, Scotland and Ireland, for the first time!.”

Greek album charts, “Maniac” cover tops hometown Radio charts and more!!
It seems that FIREWIND are not only crowned local heroes in their hometown Thessaloniki, but also enjoying nationwide success with their new masterpiece “The Premonition” which was released about a month ago in Europe.
Their rock cover version of 80s smash hit “Maniac” has been a listener’s favorite for a few weeks now @ Thessaloniki’s leading rock station, Rock Radio (www.rockradio.gr ). This week FIREWIND topped Rock Radio’s Top 10 charts!
Also “The Premonition” climbed up the Greek album charts @ position #11 (after debuting on #21 and moving up @ #15 in its second week)!!
Finally, this month’s issue of Metal Hammer Greece features Gus G. on their poster!
And while all this is happening back home, the boys are getting ready for their much anticipated return to North America next week as part of the “Tyranny and Bloodshred Tour,” which could be hailed as one of the best guitar-shredder packages of the year. This crushing trek kicks off on May 9th and also features labelmates Arch Enemy, Dark Tranquillity and Divine Heresy.
Gus G. further comments on FIREWIND’s return: “So the time is finally here! In just a few days we"ll be flying over to North American for the ‘Tyranny and Bloodshred’ tour and we"re really excited.
